Girl Scouts was founded by a woman named Juliette Gordon Low. Her vision was to provide all girls, regardless of race, class or situation, with the opportunity to better themselves, their circumstances and their communities. Over 100 years later, Girl Scouts provides the foremost leadership program for girls in grades K-12. Girl Scouts of North East Ohio was formed in 2007 after five councils in the region merged, but Girl Scouting itself has been in Ohio since 1912. GSNEO serves 25,000 girls in 18 counties, with the help of 10,000 adult members and volunteers. We are the largest, most active female voluntary service organization in the region and among the largest Girl Scout Councils in the nation.
